Beginning Photography
Joan Budai

Class fee $20 for instructor fee, manual, and field trip costs.

Parents are welcome to join this class as students! This class will be taught by a professional photographer and she is not a part of INCH, but is being contracted to teach and class fees go toward paying her for her services.

This class is for those interested in taking better pictures of scenery, wildlife, pets, and people. Some basic knowledge will be shared to attain a good understanding of how cameras work and what makes a good picture.  There will be opportunities for actual picture-taking to apply principles and gain experience. Any of the following cameras may be used: point-and-shoot digital or film, 35mm digital or film. Students should bring their camera, along with its instruction manual, and film, if applicable, to each class. Goal: to become familiar with equipment and understand how to broaden personal creativity through expanded skills resulting in imaginative and pleasing images.

Instructor Biography: Joan has been taking pictures since she was 12 years old. She has sold stories to magazines and has published a children’s book, all of which were illustrated with her own photographs. Currently, she has postcards and note cards for sale with retailers in the area and has recently supplied the pictures for the newly-refurbished rooms at Stoneridge Resort in Blanchard. She has written a 35-page manual for one-on-one instruction in beginning photography, excerpts of which will be used in this class.
