Each week students will receive their own copy of Taking Off. The class
will then read and discuss articles in the newspaper, and do map skills and
puzzles related to the articles.
God’s World News
provides news and interesting information for children—biblically,
appropriately, and vibrantly—so they can grow in their understanding that
God has the whole world in His hands.
Taking Off is the second level of their weekly current-events
papers, written for students in 2nd and 3rd grades to help them build a
Biblical Worldview. It emphasizes news,
knowledge, and wisdom.
In addition, Taking Off focuses on specific
skills for the students ages 7 to 9 years old: age-appropriate
stories that introduce young students to the concept that our
merciful and sovereign God is active in the world;
MAP-IT! entries and a world map
to teach map skills; and creative puzzles
to build alphabet, number, sequence, and other skills.
